OPA Racing has announced that it has added the Freeport (NY) Offshore Grand Prix to its 2025 racing season.

Set for July 13, 2025, the event promises to be one of the biggest and most anticipated of the year. Operating out of the iconic Guy Lombardo Marina, nestled in the heart of the Village of Freeport—just one block from the world-famous Nautical Mile—the Freeport Grand Prix will bring high-speed offshore racing back to a region with a rich history in the sport. Fans and teams alike are excited for this monumental return, as OPA Racing expects a massive turnout from both local supporters and offshore racing enthusiasts.

After an incredible 10-year run, OPA Racing will also bid a heartfelt farewell to the Englewood Beach Waterfest. Ongoing challenges securing funding have resulted in the Waterfest Board of Directors moving the event to October 2025 and integrating it into the APBA Divisional Series.

While the transition marks the end of an era for OPA Racing at Englewood Beach, the group extended its gratitude to the Waterfest staff, fans, and racers who have made this event a staple of the offshore racing calendar for nearly a decade. Nine thrilling World Championship Events have taken place under the Florida sun, and OPA Racing thanks everyone for their years of support and excitement.

In light of recent developments, the OPA World Championships will now take place at the Miami Offshore Grand Prix. Originally slated to open the season, the World Championship event will now close the series in Miami, one of the sport’s most prestigious locations. This thrilling race will bring the 2025 season to an exhilarating conclusion in the heart of Florida’s vibrant boating community.
