With the countdown underway to the opening P1 Offshore event in Cocoa Beach next month, Powerboat P1 has unveiled an array of sponsors and partners for the new season. It features a mix of existing and new sponsors across a wide variety of industries—from energy drinks to insurance, from roofing to logistics.
Last month it was announced that Monster Energy, known for its sponsorship and support for athletes, sports events and teams, had become the Official Energy Drink of Powerboat P1 in a multi-year deal that sees the brand become the exclusive energy drink of the APBA National Championship, jointly promoted by P1 and Race World Offshore, the UIM Class 1 World Championship and the P1 AquaX USA National Championship. Monster Energy will receive extensive signage opportunities on race weekends across the season, together with sampling opportunities within all P1 and RWO event areas and at boat parades, VIP hospitality and exposure through P1’s national TV broadcast deals with Bally Sports Regional Sports Networks and CBS Sports. The agreement follows the news that Monster Energy will be the title sponsor of the M CON Racing Team in this season’s Class 1 series.
CMR Construction & Roofing, the country’s ninth-largest roofing company with more than 500 employees, is a committed series partner and its relationship with P1 has raised its profile in new areas and opened doors for the award winning industry leader, particularly in Florida. In addition to tremendous visibility in the United States and internationally through P1’s extensive television broadcast schedule, CMR has leveraged its VIP hospitality benefits to deepen relationships with commercial clients, connect with new prospects and provide exciting race day experiences for its team.
Premium lifestyle vodka brand Good Boy Vodka, founded by Class 1 racer Alex Pratt in the Lake of the Ozarks in 2020, is enjoying a partnership with P1 that brings together two of Pratt's great loves—business and powerboats—in a three-year sponsorship deal. As the Official Vodka of P1 Offshore racing, the brand receives significant branding and sampling opportunities at race events and the two partners actively cross-promote on social and digital platforms. P1 works closely with Alex to help him meet his primary business objective of growing Good Boy Vodka across the nation.
The name XINSURANCE appears prominently on the side of Alex’s raceboat and the leading insurance broker is also a sponsor of Powerboat P1. Established some 40 years ago in Sandy, UT, and regarded as an industry innovator offering customized speciality liability insurance for businesses and individuals, XINSURANCE is an official partner, and its President and CEO, Rick J. Lindsey is keen to help build, showcase and highlight the excitement of P1 Offshore racing and marine motorsports. An exciting element of the sponsorship is that P1 is able to use a seat in the A-Star XINSURANCE helicopter, designated the Official Broadcast Helicopter, for a race commentator or photographer.
Mercury Racing and Powerboat P1 have a close relationship, and in August the Wisconsin-based marine engine manufacturer will celebrate its 50th anniversary by sponsoring the Mercury Racing MidWest Challenge promoted by P1. The city of Sheboygan on the western shore of Lake Michigan will host the three-day festival featuring the top categories of U.S. powerboat racing including F1 Powerboats and Class 1.
A recent announcement by P1 is that Legend Yacht Transport is the Official Logistics Provider of the UIM Class 1 World Championship for the 2023 season. Based in Florida, the company was set up in November 2021 to provide customized logistics and manage the international transport of motorboats, raceboats and superyachts. P1 has also announced the continuation of its partnership agreement with Icom. It sees the international, advanced communications company become the official marine radio communications of P1 Offshore powerboat racing and P1 AquaX personal watercraft racing for the third year in succession.
The P1 Offshore season will kick off with the four-day (May 18-21) Thunder On Cocoa Beach event on Florida’s Space Coast, before moving to the Gulf Coast for the Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix at the very end of June.
