The second of four races on this first day of Race World Offshore’s World Championships in Key West saw four classes in competition: Stock 450, Stock Vee, Modified Vee and Bracket Class 2.
In Stock Vee, Brit Lilly and Kevin Smith led in their LSB Hurricane of Awesomeness entry from start to finish. They were followed by Relentless, Shocker and R&S Racing.
In Modified Vee, the father/son team of Steve and Stephen Kildahl of Sarasota, FL, took their Boatfloater.com to first place after having a stellar year on the OPA Racing circuit. They were followed by Sheriff Lobo and Team Octane; Marker 17 Marine broke down and was seen being towed in.
Wix Filters took the unofficial win in Bracket 2 Class, finishing ahead of We on Top. Class 2’s Team Woody entry was experiencing mechanical issues and did not finish, but got points for completing one lap.
Taylor Scism and Johnny Tomlinson ran unopposed in their Marine Technology entry, giving them the win in Stock 450 Class.
