In the final day of the Race World Offshore world finals in Key West, four classes were featured in the day’s second race: Modified Vee, Stock Vee, Stock 450 and Bracket Class 2.

In Stock Vee, Brit Lilly and Kevin Smith in LSB Hurricane of Awesomeness/Rev X Oil held a commanding lead throughout the race—and led every lap of every race all week—giving them the World Championship in the class. They were followed by Travis Hartmann and Travis Pettko in Relentless/Punisher, Johnny Stanch and Howard Richardson in R&S Racing and Chris Perry and Patrick Romeo in Shocker. Richard Garcia and Pete Riveiro in The Firm, which had flipped at hairpin turn 3 on Friday, were back on the course on Sunday, but dropped out early.

Meanwhile, Modified Vee saw Friday’s winners, Brian Forehand and Vinnie Diorio in Marker 17 Marine, stay ahead of their competitors for about half of the race, but the boat suffered mechanical issues and headed to the pits. Visit St. Pete (with Nick Imprescia and Ian Morgan) grabbed the lead and finished first, but points leaders Steve and Stephen Kildahl of Boatfloater, which finished second today, unofficially took the World Championship. Sheriff Lobo finished third.

In Bracket 2 class, Wednesday’s big winners John Larkin and Scott Brown in Wix Filters, took a repeat win on Sunday, unofficially handing them the World Championship. Friday’s winner, WeOnTop, finished second, with Brian Cole running with Jackhammer’s Ricky Maldonado today. Team Woody, with Billy Shipley and Chad Woody, dropped out of the 10-lap race around the eighth lap (but had won a World Championship in their Bracket 3 class earlier in the day).

Taylor Scism and Johnny Tomlinson ran unopposed in their Marine Technology entry, giving them the win in Stock 450 Class and a World Championship award in their first year of racing the boat in this spec class.

Stay tuned for results from the day’s next two races!
