The 2020 edition of the Thunder on Cocoa Beach Offshore Race—originally scheduled for May 14-17, then pushed back to Aug. 27-30—has been cancelled by its organizers.
“It is with great disappointment and a tremendous regard for the safety and concerns for our race teams and fans that we announce this,” they said in a statement. “Our team has worked tirelessly to prepare for our race event and have come to the conclusion that this is the best possible outcome. We cherish our time with our race teams and fans, this is our best possible decision for the safety of us all. We are firmly committed to bringing this event back to Cocoa Beach next May and will be constantly working on improving the next event! Thanks for your continued support of our event and we can’t wait to see you again next May! Please stay safe, hug your family and most importantly love one another! Godspeed!”
